uncertainty or even error

Of all the human systems of belief such as religion, science, ideology, sorcery, etc. I am increasingly inclined to think that the most rational of all is, by far, religion - and Christian religion in particular.

Life preservation and enhancement is the most rational of all values since in the absence of life no other values make sense. Thus, the Christian belief in afterlife, compared to the alternative, is a perfectly rational belief in the sense that it leads people to strive for longer and better lives (see the post below).

As to the question: is there or is there not an afterlife? This is the question about truth. The answer is: we don't know, we shall never know and it would not be good if we ever did know. There are certain issues in life regarding which the best state of affairs for us, human beings, is to never know the truth, thus remaining in a situation of permanent uncertainty or even error. (More on this later).
