As it stands now, I believe that what Portuguese society needs most is unpopular men and women. There are too many popular people around or trying to be popular. To be popular is easy. Now, you need people capable of doing difficult things (such as restoring order and discipline to your school system, to your judicial system, to your tax system, etc.).Now, authority is unpopular. It always was. Everybody envies it.
