sheer badmouthing

I argued earlier that a Catholic society does not innovate through the free market process but through authority only. The reason is that Catholic people are unable of independent thinking. This was the main point of one of my latest posts.

The next question is to ask how a Catholic society reacts to an innovator in a free market environment. Even though the vast majority of Catholic people cannot think independently, there are exceptions - that 5% tiny minority which I referred to in a previous post. What if one of those few men or women decides to innovate creating a new technology or a new product in a competitive industry such as industry P described below? How would a Catholic society put the innovator down so that, in the longer run, we can be reasonably sure there are no innovators in the free market sector of a Catholic country?

The answer is: ruining his personal reputation through maledicency. Badmouthing, sheer badmouthing is the most lethal weapon Catholic culture possesses to put down all men and women who dare to be original and innovative outside the protective, cozy umbrella of authority.
