nations of aldrabões

I have been arguing in previous posts that in Catholic Nations there is one professional class, the clergy, which specializes in the search for truth and whose members are supposed to devote their lives to this endeavour. By contrast, in Protestant Nations, the direct relationship between the common man and God entrusts each man with the responsibility to search for truth by his own means.

This sentiment is not present in Catholic populations: the search for truth is something that is alien to them and entrusted to others - the priests - not to themselves. It then follows that when the Church is pushed away from the public scene and its influence tends to vanish in society, Catholic Nations tend to degenerate into nations of aldrabões, which is part of the chaos referred to below.
