Why is it that, despite philosophy and science, religion has been the most important factor shaping the culture of man, i.e, the vision that man holds about himself, society and the world?
The answer is that religion - not science or secular philosophy, much less politics or ideology - remains to this day the only comprehensive, rational and coherent system of ideas which provided a meaning to human life. This is the unrivaled civilizational success of religion.
