If my argument of the previous post is correct, if in a society such as the Portuguese where people are regarded as súbditos, freedom is a condition and a privilege of power, then, most of those liberals who call for freedom in the country are really aiming at power, for one cannot exist without the other. If, by any chance, they get what they want, that is freedom (and power), you might be sure that they will keep it for themselves, and will not share a little bit of it with you, súbdito.
