In late morning trade in Europe, less than three hours before US markets open in New York, financial markets remain extremely unsettled. The US dollar reaches new historical lows against the euro (1.6038), crude cruises to US$147 per barrel and gold cruises to US$1000 per ounce. The Portuguese stock market falls more than 5%.
