peixe com batatas fritas

In the great divide between Catholics and Protestants I believe the greatest adversaries of Catholic people are the British. They have been lethal at ridiculing the Catholic Church and Catholic culture.

Catholic culture puts too much emphasis on words, rather than actions. Conversely, Protestant culture puts too much emphasis on actions, rather than words. It is where a culture puts its emphasis that it can best be ridiculed. Thus, the British have excelled at ridiculing Catholic culture where it hurts - the words. They usually laugh about the big words, the extensive quotations, the pompous, endless, empty speeches, often accompanied by the most extraordinary gestures and face contortions which are so typical of Catholic peoples. I have already supplied in this blog some evidence for this.

Now, where can the British, and Prostestant peoples in general, be laughed at and ridiculed? The answer is, where it hurts them most - the actions. Let us start with actions at the kitchen. Food and food preparation is a very important subject for mankind for man's health and happiness depends largely on it.

Would you trust in this matter the people who invented that most extraordinary dish called fish and chips? I don't.
