Catholic culture prefers no education at all to a deficient education. Protestant culture with its love for equality and averages prefers an education for all even if it is a deficient education. Since people are different, an education for all necessarily means a deficient education as the standards must be set at the lowest common denominator.Processo the Bolonha enables everyone to get a Licence degree if he is willing and can afford to spend three years of his life at university; a Master degree for one more year; a Ph. D. degree for tree more years. Actually, for people over 23, all those periods might be shortened if they have some professional experience; no completion of secondary education is required.
A friend of mine has gone as far as to say that "Em breve, teremos doutorados em calceteiros".
I can readily imagine what our institutions - companies, government departments, parishes, recreational clubs, political parties, blogs, even families - will be turned into the day they are full of such authorities as Doutores, Mestres e Professores.
