In America you are encouraged to search the truth, not only the truth about nature but the truth about man too. It is not surprising that some of the greatest scientific discoveries of the last century came from America. It is not surprising either that an inordinate number of inspirational men and women also came from America.
Last week I visited the homes of two such figures. One was Elvis Presley's Graceland home in Memphis. Elvis was quite a spiritual man and most of his songs bear that touch of spirituality that made him one of the greatest singers of the twentieth century. He started his career inspired by gospel music and it was a gospel album that won him his first Grammy Award ("How Great Thou Art").
The other was Martin Luther King's birthplace in Atlanta. Later, I visited the place in Memphis where he was assassinated. Luther King had a dream - a dream that he made true, for America is the country, more than any other in the World, where dreams can be made true.
